Mgr. Ondrej Halan - Civics and ELT teacher with 27 years of English teaching experience, 5 years of experience as a secondary grammar school teacher. During his classes, he tries to discuss questions concerning ethical issues and morality, moreover, he introduces psychology, sociology, law and even economics. A great part of the civics subject content is philosophy but he also enhances critical thinking and motivates the development of the useful skill of doubting. He is a mentor in students’ research projects in the field of humanities. In addition to ELT textbook material, he uses the original literary masterpieces, book extracts, short stories, poems persuading pupils to read as much as possible. His teaching approach and material is interconnecting topics of philosophy, literature, critical thinking, logic, ethics, even psychology, sociology, law and economics through which he is developing interdisciplinary competence of students. | |

At present, artist and bilingual secondary school teacher (Arts and culture subject, English C1 classes, English literature classes, Ethics). 22 years of English teaching experience at language schools and secondary schools. Coordinator of the school parliament representing their interests in relation to the principal, senior teaching and professional staff and externally. Working experience as a Slovak National Gallery guide for foreigners, as a translator and interpreter, experience of teaching art and drama classes in English.
