Mgr. Jana Sládeková - I teach Slovak language and History in English. I studied Slovak language and History at PU Prešov, then I started to teach at Evanjelické gymnázium J. Tranovského in Liptovský Mikuláš. I love being a teacher. It´s a way how I can influence young people to know themselves better and to choose what they would like to do and to be a part of in their lives. Then I studied English at Language School in Žilina and Humboldt Institute in Bratislava to be qualified to teach history in English. Thanks to history I found passion in English and vice versa. I can observe that it´s the same with my students. I attended two courses which were aimed to incorporate CLIL into lessons of History. They lasted for two years and I have two certificates that prove the fact that I am a teacher who can implement CLIL as a language immersion method that aims at teaching subject such as science, history, geography and art to students through a foreign language. I attended E-Twinning Programme with my students. We cooperated with an Italian school and we studied Italian and Slovak Medieval Castles. I am involved in the projects which are related to Holocaust and their goal is to lead young people to respect their lives and to avoid the mistakes such as Holocaust, discrimination, egoism, etc. I participated in the school project – Translation for Teofania. The school cooperated with Teofania Publisher and translated a Christian book from English to Slovak. In these project 3 teachers and 7 students cooperated. I like working in a team (cooperation), reading books, art and looking for new opportunities to became better human. |
