Klára Lancová is an assistant professor at the Department of English, Faculty of Education, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, the Czech Republic and teaches applied linguistics courses, practical language classes and an interdisciplinary course on British art and identity. She received her doctoral degree from the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno, the Czech Republic. Her research interests include sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, pragmatics – specifically the issues of language and identity, style and language attitudes. Most recently, she has been applying the concepts of critical language awareness, critical pedagogy and social-emotional learning to her teaching and prospective research. She has published a monograph On the Nature of Language Humour in Four Selected Works of Woody Allen, a chapter on selected Czech language attitudes in a John Benjamins monograph English Pronunciation Instruction: Research Based Insights, articles in language journals and papers in conference proceedings. | |
Eva Skopečková is an Assistant Professor in the English Department, at the Faculty of Education, University of Western Bohemia, Pilsen, the Czech Republic. She teaches EFL methodology courses to pre-service and in-service teachers. Her recently published work includes journal articles, conference proceedings articles, chapters in monographs and a monograph. Eva Skopečková graduated from the Faculty of Education, Charles University in Prague in 2005 (English language and literature/German language and literature). Here she also received her Ph.D. in Pedagogy with a focus on Didactics of English Language and Literature in 2010. She specializes in ELT Methodology and her research interests include the use of literary texts in the EFL classroom and translation in the language teaching context. |
